ADMISSIONS FOR ONLINE COURSES
CMES affords equal access for all students to online courses once eligibility requirements have been met. Our aim is always to provide the most efficient service possible to our students. Your adherence to our established registration policies contributes to our efficiency and is greatly appreciated.
PROMETRIC TESTING CENTERS
All students taking CMES online courses are required to take the final exam at a Prometric Testing Center.
In order to fulfill the USCG requirements for student verification and validation, CMES has chosen Prometric to handle our testing needs. Upon completion of their online course, students will receive detailed instructions on how to register with their local Prometric Testing Center to take the final exam. Testing MUST be scheduled and completed no later than 30 days from the date that CMES contacts the student with authorization to test at Prometric.

ABOUT THE CMES LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The CMES Learning Management System (LMS), the first true Distance Learning System to be approved for training mariners, is a Virtual Learning Environment, which is a suite of functionalities that deliver, track, report on, and manage the learning content, trainee progress, and trainee interactions with the course and instructor. The LMS provides the instructor with the method to deliver course content, monitor student participation, and assess performance.
CMES' LMS embraces four important aspects of Distance Learning, which had to be addressed to satisfy the USCG: technical delivery standards conformance, privacy, uniform quality of training, and sustainability. The LMS also satisfies industrial and government standards for delivery methods and course content, transfer, and storage standards: SCORM 2004 (Shared Content Object Reference Model); AICC (Aviation Industry CBT Committee); MIS GLS (Industrial Management System Global Learning Consortium); and ARIADNE (Foundation for Knowledge Pool).
