FROM THE CHAIRMAN
OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Our school is a dynamic work in progress, constantly changing and improving to meet the needs of the maritime and related industries. The many physical improvements we have made, coupled with the new slate of courses that have been developed, ensure that students have the access to the education and training they need to remain the world’s best professionals. We are continually upgrading the facilities and curriculum for our students. The upgrades to the dormitories including the addition of new televisions, refrigerators and high-speed internet access and the new student lounge, help to create a clean, comfortable and safe environment that is conducive to learning.
As always, the courses offered at the MEBA School ensure that our students exceed regulatory training requirements and remain at the forefront of technology. The School’s educational and training program continues to expand to meet the needs of its students and their companies. Thanks to our highly qualified faculty, dedicated staff, well-equipped facilities, and an administration and Board of Trustees committed to excellence, I am confident that our school will continue to play a major role in the advancement of maritime and related industry goals.
While you are at the school, take a few moments to visit the newly dedicated Merchant Marine Memorial. This memorial is dedicated to the memory of all those who have gone before us in this industry, and those who have sacrificed so much to deliver the goods that keep our nation safe, secure, and strong. Many thanks go to the hundreds of members who donated to the building fund to enable us to create this permanent reminder of the service and sacrifice of the American Merchant Mariner.
The talent and skills embodied in our graduates enable them to lead, not follow. We are committed to ensuring that all students are prepared to meet future challenges with the very best training available in the world today. The world’s best training produces the world’s best professionals – the men and women graduates of the Calhoon MEBA Engineering School.
